Hello,

My wife has a hp laptop with Vista on it and she lost the ability to read or play a CD of any kind. I found 7 viruses on the system so decided to do a recovery. I have recovery disc's but the system did a recovery from the recovery on the hard drive. The same problem is still here, there is no DVD/CD-ROM in devise manager. I can not do a recovery from the cd's I have as the system will not read /or see the cd/dvd-rom. It is as if it just disappeared.
Can you help me please?

Hello Radar,

Very often, after doing a system recovery, the drivers must be reinstalled. That is what you must do.

Unfortunately, without knowing your system's harware specs, no further help can be provided.
