I need your help over broken LCD screen

Hello,
my sony vaio vgn sz450n got lcd severe demaged,, i try to see by using external monitor if nothing wrong other then this lcd lost, but i do not see external monitor work as well nothing comes up. even at this broken lcd the windows start up sound comes up plz help me either its another issue or just something i may missing to use external monitor

Laptop external monitor ports are normally turned off. Look for the CRT/LCD or screen like icon on the top row. Hold down the Function (Fn) key and press the CRT key at the same time. This should turn on the port.
