Connect my old desktop to my laptop USB?
Solved/Closed
Hello,
My old desk top monitor died so I'm trying to connect my old desk top tower to my newer laptop. I'd like to access and use my Microsoft Office software from the old desk top. Is this possible? Thanks.

No. Your laptop can't function as a monitor for the old desktop. You can network the two computers thru the network port. But, you would need a functioning monitor on the desktop. You can get software that will allow you to remotely control the desktop on a networked PC. That will allow you to use Office software on the desktop from the laptop.
It's easier to just download the FREE Microsoft Office replacement "OpenOffice" from www.openoffice.org . It can do 99% of the functions of Microsoft Office.
Good Luck
