I have Western Digital External hard Drive 500 GB.It was nearly full, such there was only 50 gb free space. Day by day it worked slow and one day It stopped working, not only I am unable to access it but even I couldn't see it in My Computer window. . I can feel the disk rotating and the light is on on the HDD. It used to flicker when it was accessible now the light is just on.. plus there got some sound inside.. after 10 seconds this sound stops...

Pls help me in getting disk accessible to me.. I am using Toshiba Laptop

Pls help me
Thanks in anticipation

Regards
Ruslan

Hello,
Try this 1
1) Click on Start --> Run ( In windows vista\7, in search box) --> Type devmgmt.msc and press Enter. Device Manager window will be opened. If you notice any yellow mark --> right click on it --> Select the option update and follow the instructions.
2) Check if you can see your drive in the disk management.
Click on Start --> Run ( In windows vista\7, in search box) --> Type diskmgmt.msc and press Enter.
"Device Management" window will be opened.
3) Try updating your usb drivers also.
Good Luck.

Hello,
Try this 1
Connect your drive.
1)Click on Start --> Run ( In windows vista\7, in search box) --> Type devmgmt.msc and press Enter.
Device manager will be opened. Click on the white area in that window. Now click on "Action"--> Scan for hardware changes.
2) If you are using Windows XP then click on the below link and follow the instructions

If you are using Windows 7 then Click on the below link

Install this program impossible, because there has a " its.dll " Try re-install the program!
The answer for the link that you sent me...
I read comment about that it's useful when ya putting the HD to frige for 2 hours and after that it works.. :O
What you think about this??
