Hello,

i have an acer aspire 5551-a laptop with an ati mobility radeon hd4250 card in it.i connected to my old tv through a vga to svideo cable also tried with vga to rgb cable .i can see the pictrure on my tv, but it can only handle 800x600@50hz or 640x480@50Hz but i dont have this option in windows 7 either in the ati controll center.even if i would download an external program to change the resolution, these programs normally do it only with the primary display, but i would like this setting on the tv, the secondary display.i tried the power strip but i was unable to set it.can you/ tell me if i ever will be able to see movies on this tv and how or should i forget about it all?thanks

Hello,
Try this 1
1) When you switch ON your laptop, keep tapping the "F8" key to get "Windows Advanced Options"( if boot menu appears, press "Esc" key and keep tapping the F8 key)
2) Select the option "Enable low-resolution video" --> Press Enter
3) Now check if you are able to get the resolution 800x600.
Good Luck
