File sharing in windows 7

hey hi everyone ,
I am using a dell laptop with windows 7 , desktop with xp , i do have internet of broadband connection to both of them using a common router with 4 ports including wireless too ..i use wireless facilty for surfing net on laptop and wsing cable for desktop , i can share my desktop files to my laptop but i cant receive files of laptop to desktop , how cud i do that ,,if u know the solution plz help me
