Why won't mobile internet allow multiple connections

I'm using Sprint Mobile internet and as soon as I enable my LAN so my PS3 can connect, the internet disconnects. When I try to reconnect I get a "does not allow multiple connections" warning from the the connection. Can only reconnect if I disable LAN... which defeats the purpose. Tried changing any setting I could think of, but still no luck
