External USB hard drive is not seen in "My PC

Hello,

When i'm connecting my new USB hard drive, the icon of enabling this HD is appearing in the low right corner. It tells that my new hardware is ready to use, but when i go to the "My PC" window, its not visible there?!! I connect the same drive to my other laptop with Win XP and no problems there.



The T41 that doesn't see my USB hard drive is a T41 with a clean windows 2003 installation.

In Device Manager, i have 2 devices that doesn't have drivers, but it's because i can't figure out which ones are they?

Anyway, when i connect a Flash USB pen drive, there is no problem there. It's recognized with no problem.



So, anyone has any clue?

hello do you have front panel USB ? check if its connected inside to the motherboard

It's a notebook and there are 2 USB ports there and the both of them are connected to the Mother board. the both work with any Flash USB pendrive but not with external Hard Drives??!! It is installed well. I can see it in the "Device Manager" under My PC proerties, but they're invisible in Windows Explorer!!
