Hi Ron,
Right click on the file you wanna open with another program and go to Properties. In General tab, you'll see the the program which open the file. Just click on Modify. You'll have another programs for opening the file, you choose the appropriate one for you then you close and click "Apply".
Now the file will be open with the chosen program.
