Hi,
Delete any file called Iconcache.db (usually at C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Application Data (XP) / C:\Users\Username\Application Data\Local (Vista/7)) and reboot.
This should force a refresh of all your shortcuts with the proper icons.
If it does not work, try a system restore back to before the problem occurs.
