It seems to be u have bought a modem router.But your connection is RJ11 internet connection.
These days I'am also struggling with a this tipe of problem. Try this
one thing is switch
small 1 port router cost bit which has a RJ45 network port
connet that port to your modem router
Do some thing like that and check....Dont throw the other modem its also good......

Sounds like the "ADSL router" is a Modem/router that has a phone line (Rj11) as input. It can't be used with your new broadband connection. Buy a new router.
i too tried a lot with the same but unable to get on the net. the simple thing is to get a new wi-fi router and start your net experience.
