Not able to install any OS in Compaq CQ40 lap

Hello,


Can anyone help me ,I am not able to install any OS in my compaq CQ 40 laptop.Tried to install Window7 not done,Vista nnot done,finally I tried to install xp even Xp could not be installed saying some error...............and while installing Vista it started perfectly till completing final installation then it gets hang and on an on.....same page same place even after 8-10 hours.Pls help me on this asap.

How do you expect anyone to help you with out the EXACT error message?
