Hello,

I really need help to fix my ibm thinkpad t20 2647-41a. After turning on the laptop, it will just stay hanged with the 'z' light and battery light illuminated. The cooling fan will still run. I don't think it's the battery problem cause I tried powering on the laptop without the battery, just the power cord. I really want to learn how to fix and computer and any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advanced

Hello,

Try this 1

1) Disconnect the AC power adapter --> Remove the battery --> Hold the power

button for 60 seconds --> Now reconnect the AC power adapter and try to

switch ON the laptop. Later put the battery back into the laptop.

2) If the problem still exists then click on the below link and follow the instructions

Hello,
Did you get any display in the external monitor ? Make sure you have pressed the right combination keys to toggle between your laptop screen and the external monitor.
