HELP WITH A 2 COMPUTER NETWORK

Hello,

I need some help hooking up two computers with an ETHERNET cable. I have two computers running XP Pro, both have an ETHERNET port. I am on dial-up internet so I do not have a router and such. I just want to do file sharing and to share the printer. If you can please direct me to some place I can get the information I need to set up the software.

You can connect the two computers together with a special "crossover" LAN cable. It is wired differently than a standard cable. After connecting the computers you will need to enable networking and set "share" file security. This is a good site for network info:
