Hello,
I tried with deleting the keys under {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
upperfilter
lowerfilter
upperfilter.bak
lowerfilter.bak
But still dvd rom is not displayed
PLZ help

Hello,
Try this 1
First check your DVD-Drive is detected in the BIOS or not.
Go to BIOS --> Load default settings --> Check if your drive is detected or not -->
Save the settings and exit from BIOS.
If you can see your drive in BIOS then
Click on Start --> In search box, type devmgmt.msc and press Enter.
"Device Manager" will be opened.
If you see any yellow mark on your DVD-Drive name --> Double-click on it and let
me know the "Device Status" complete message.

As you said I checked in my bios whether my dvd-rom is detected or not!
I is not detected in my bios, but it still works when i open the drive, & i also hear the drive head spinning sound when the drive is closed....
dvd-rw has power supply but is not detected.....
wat to do? this problem of dvd-rw is in my acer laptop.

Try this 1
Sine your drive is able to receive the power you are able to open and close the drive.
Did you loaded the default setting in BIOS?
Check if you see you DVD drive in BIOS boot priority options. Also check if you can see the DVD drive name during the POST.
