I put the sata hard disk in a usb encloser and connected it to my laptop. i could see all my files in the hard disk but each time i try to boot to it i keep having an errror saying ''bad PBR sig ..... Media failure check data connector''. I think the data connector is ok bcos i can see the files inside but i just cannot boot to it. Pls can anyone help

You don't really want to boot using the desktop drive. When Windows was installed on the desktop it was customized to the hardware on that PC. Since the laptop is probably a completely different motherboard chipset it can't boot to it.

Good Luck
