Can't login to Google.com

Jo, thanks for the advice. When I opened the file, the bottom was this:

# localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
# 127.0.0.1 localhost
# ::1 localhost

67.205.118.187 www.google.com
67.205.118.188 search.yahoo.com
67.205.118.188 www.bing.com

I deleted everything under 12.0.0.1 localhost but when I tried to save, it saved the file as a new ".txt" file, leaving the "host" as it was. Any ideas?

My problem is slightly different. I can access google.com and all the search sites. But I can't login to google, which effects gmail, reader, calendar, and anything customizable. I recently had a virus removed so that's why this caught my attention. Thanks for the help.
