Connecting PC to TV

Hello,

I am trying to connect my viao Laptop to my Sony Television via VGA and sound from the headphone jack. I get the picture but no sound. Can anybody help. Running Vista.

Which cable are you actually using for sound?

It is a Audio Y Cable mini Jack to R/L RCA

a 3.5mm jack to 2 pono plugs
