Toshiba: rebootable device??

Hello,
I have a toshiba satellite C650/C650D if that means anything.... When i turn it on it says " no bootable device- insert boot disc. I have no boot disc and have no idea what to do, can someone please help me????

This message means your hard drive has failed. I suggest you take it to a local repair shop and get an estimate for replacement of the hard drive and reloading of Windows.

maybe, sometimes a special recovery program can salvage some of the files on the disk. Your files may be located on a section of the disk that is still readable.
