Laptop turns on but shows error.

Hello,

I have an HP laptop. It turns on but shows an error for a few seconds which im unable to read. and than the screen shows that windows has encountered a problem i should choose from below. I tried Safe Mode as well as " Sart Windows normally" option, but it doesnt work. the laptop restarts again and the same message comes. Can someone please direct me what i should do after choosing F10 to go into steup.

Insert your OS installation DVD

Enter the windows setup,There should br two options,one is to install and another is Repair

Select repair and get into recovery console,and run this command

chkdsk /r

Try restarting your PC after chkdsk has run successfully

thanks for your reply. But i dont know have OS DVD. Can i get it from the market.

Ya...make sure that you use the same OS version(Home Basic, Home Premium, Ultimate, etc.) you have installed.

Another way is to connect the hard disk to another PC and try running chkdsk
