Hello,

I have dell studio 15 laptop (Windows 7). Accidently my baby threw golf ball n hit the laptop. It shutdown but started again. It kept working for 2 hrs before it hanged up. It starts now, windows logo comesup... and goes in CHKDSK . I ran CHKDSK and it came with no errors. I ran system chk .. came up with no errors . But it doeast go to login screen... Cant go in even through safe mode
I cant do system restore as there was no date setup ...I can go to command prompt and see all file n data on system, It recognises all drives n folders too .. I got all my babies videos backup from C prompt .. but dont kno what else to do ..... It just doesnt go upto login screen .. Please HELP

Addendum:

I went into System Recovery Options' and did system repair couple of time .. It says no error.. Tried windows memory test... It passed tht too. Should I do Windows complete PC restore .. How should I do it .. will I loose all my data? Can I try something else before tht ??

Hello,

Try this 1

1) Place the Windows 7 disc in the drive and boot from it.

When "Press any key to boot from the Windows 7 installation DVD" appears,

press any key to start booting from installation disc.

Note: If you failed to boot from the installation disc then make sure first boot

device is set as CD\DVD Drive.

2) When the language preference appears, click on Next.

3) When "Install Now" appears --> Click on "Repair your computer" found at the

bottom.

4) Click on "Next" --> Select the option "Use recovery tools that can fix problems

starting Windows" and click on "Next" --> When "System Recovery Options"

appear --> Select the option "Command Prompt".

Now enter the following commands one by one.

bootrec /fixmbr ----> Press Enter.

bcdedit /export c:\bcd_backup ----> Press Enter.

C: ----> Press Enter.
Note : Now your prompt changes to C:\>

cd boot ----> Press Enter.
Note : Now your prompt changes to C:\Boot>

attrib bcd -s -h -r ----> Press Enter.

ren bcd bcd.old ----> Press Enter.

Follow the instructions ---> type exit and press enter --> Click on "Restart".

Hello,
Try this 1
Click on the below link and follow the instructions to backup your data.
https://ccm.net/faq/12607-data-backup-when-windows-failed-to-boot
It seems like your hard disk contains bad sectors. Run the Disk Self Test one again and let me know the complete error message.
Good Luck
