Hi Chris,
You probably have installed 32 bit files from the first attempts.
1. Make sure that you totally remove any traces of the first 32 bit download.
2. Clean all of your temporary files.
3. Download, install and run this totally free yet very efficient registry cleaner :

5. Rebbot your machine
6. install the 64 bit I tunes
