No sound on my hdmi hook up

Hello,

I have a new windows 7 laptop and I cant get sound on my tv when I hook up the hdmi cable, I have tried everything listed but nothing works.. It seems theres something missing in each step. Please HELP!

i have no idea about this but i am still try to get the solution because i am all face that kind of problem.....

have you tried hdmi cable 1.4 version, dunno it solove it but as its a up todate cable, with ethinet each way, it might work?
