We took the cpu off to clean

Hello,

I took my cpu off a gateway and cleaned it put it back on just as it was on there now the tower won't boot up could my cpu go out on me

Almost anything could go wrong when you "clean" a CPU. Did you use soap and water or just a wire brush? I think you need "on site" help for a more knowledgeable friend or a repair shop.

I used Dust off air to it. and then put the compound on it. So i didn't use soap and water or a wire brush.
