Laptop screen becomes black

Hello,
sir,i was using compaq laptop having windows7 as o.s .my system slowered down ,so i wanted to boot my laptop...but booting process could not completed due to some reasons...but when i restarted system at startup showed me bootmgr file absent....and i switched it off and removed the battery and restared.BUT LAPTOP SCREEN BECAME BLACK AT STARTUP AND MADE SOUND WHEN PRESSED THE KEYS OF KEYBOARD
