I tried to format part of my harddisk and it says: A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer" ... *** STOP:0x0000007B (0xf78d2524, 0x000003f, 0x00000000, 0x00000000). I am having HP G62-371DX Notebook. I really needed help to format my computer and install XP service park2.

Options that I have tried are: Step 1- I boot the system and immediately entered the BIOS. I tried to change the SATA settings to "IDE compatibility" and save BUT THEN THERE IS NO "IDE compatibility" to select.

Step 2- Boot the computer with the XP disk and watch it for the prompt"Press any key tp boot from CD..."

And it comes back saying "A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer" ... *** STOP:0x0000007B (0xf78d2524, 0x000003f, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)"

Processor: AMD Turion(tm) II P540 Dual-Core Processor 2.40 GHz

I really needed help. I will appreciate the help so much. PLEASE HELP. Best Regards to the forum community...

Hello,

Go to your BIOS and for your case if you can not find ATA mode, simply turn off the SATA mode)

Good Luck!
