Setting up and configuring a small office net

Hello, can you explain step by step how to install and configure a small office network.
I have 4x computers all with PCI/NIC/fast ethernet adaptors. I want to network these computers to a central printer/copier. Please explain what else do I need and setup procedures. All my computers are winXP professional OS.
