How to get desktop icons onto the monitor

Hello,

I have tried everything I could find how to transfer desktop icons to the monitor (like new folders, saved websites, etc.): To no avail! REAL help would be very much appreciated!!!

Found ONE answer that worked!!! And it was not from Microsoft!
