SATA Hard Drive not shown on my computer

Hello,
I just got a computer from a friend that was full and crap so I cleaned it out so it can now run
and I went out and bought a used Seagate 80GB SATA hard drive to use as the master hard drive but when I plugged it in and went to my BIOS boot priority to set it as the first boot divice the hard drive didnt show up I can get a picture of it if needed also the hard drive might have windows XP on it.

I suggest you check the power and data cables. If they seem OK I would return the used drive. It's most likely broken.
