HP Dv-7 1129 wm Vista No sound

Hello,
I have a HP DV-7 1129 wm with Vista OS- the mute button on the touch pannel is stuck on, I have gone into the control pannel to check and internally it shows it should have sound. Please help. I have tried removing the battery etc...

Do you know the mute button is stuck down or are you just guessing?

Does the speaker icon have a red X next to it?
What happens if you right click to speaker icon?

No the speaker icon does not have a red x - nothing happens. when I click it. how ever when I ran the diognostic- it shows the sound is muted.

The orange light that indicates the mute is on- is showing- ( the lap top has the touch pannel sennsors
