Hello,

I was using my laptop last year connected directly to the AC supplier without its battery and someone happened to pull out the charger and the laptop went black. After the incident, it switched on but did not boot. It displayed a behind-lit black screen.....i formatted the hard drive several times and installed a new windows OS but the problem still remains the same. Everything is running except for the booting and if i use the hard drive as an external drive, it fully works with no problems. How do i resolve the problem??

Thanks

Did the screen work while you installed a new copy of Windows? Or did you try to install Windows using another computer and the hard drive from the broken computer? This second method will not work unless you have identical motherboard chipsets on the two computers.

Yes! The screen works when i install Windows, it displays all the processes but then becomes black when it now has to boot from the hard drive.

Did you try to boot into "safe mode"? (Hit F8 multiple times after you see the Windows logo). This sounds like it could be a video driver incompatibility. It it boots into safe mode then you should try to update the video drivers.

Good Luck
