Wireless network on ps3 with or without booster

i have an xbox360 slim 250GB and the wireless on that console was never able to reach the internet so i purchased a wireless adaptor and it works fine. i how ever want to sell it to buy a ps3 slim, i have a play room which is downstairs and the hub is around 15-20 meters away will the wireless connection on the ps3 be better, be able to reach the internet without having to buy some sort of booster or adapter? thanks :D
