Here are three Solutions to fix this problem:
1. Rename the downloaded file so that its filename extension matches the filename extension on the Web or FTP page from which it was downloaded.
2. Download the file using a different Web browser (e.g., Netscape Navigator).
3. Remove and then reinstall Internet Explorer, then redownload the file.
If problem still occurs then use system utility like Reginout to fix registry errors and clean windows junk.
