Kindly ensure the phone's Bluetooth is in the discoverable mode. If you are still not able to detect your phone on the computer, please reply with the Dell Laptop Model Number and also the Model Number of your phone.

Please reply with the Operating System and the exact System Model Number of the Vostro Laptop so that I can look for the exact settings. Also include the Model Number of your phone in your response.

Thank you for replying. I have checked the details of Dell Vostro(TM) A840 or Vostro PP38L model. It comes with an internal Bluetooth card. As you are able to send files from your phone to your laptop, you will not need any extra hardware. Try the steps mentioned in the below mentioned link and see if the issue fixes:
