Hello,

I have had my ASUS laptop (Model:K52F) for 2 and a half years. Recently I began encountering issues with the screen. It will show the start up screen, then the ASUS screen, but where it should take me to my log on page, the screen turns a dark grey. Nothing from what should be the log on page is visible except the movement of the mouse icon. Please help if you can. Any tips or suggestions.

Thanks,
JoshuaP22

Hi JoshuaP22,

As you have mentioned the video disappears at the logon screen, this can possibly happen because of a faulty video card driver. Follow the steps below to uninstall/install the video card drivers:

1. Power on/Restart the computer.
2. Once the computer goes past the initial setup screen start tapping the F8 key on the keyboard.
3. It will show you Advanced Boot Options.
4. Select Safe Mode and hit Enter.
5. After loading some initial drivers the computer will show you the Desktop with a low resolution. While you are still in Safe Mode uninstall/install the Video card driver.
6. To get the drivers for the video card please visit the following page:

Do reply with results.
