Installing windows xp professional over Windows 7

Hello,

I have installed windows 7 on my compaq presario V2000. Now i want to install windows xp professional. but i am not able to boot my laptop from CD. dont understand what is the problem, please help?

Hello,

Try this 1

1) First make sure that all the necessary drivers are available for Windows XP.

2) Go to CMOS settings and make sure that the first boot device is set to your

DVD-Drive.

even that doesn't work!!!the 1st option to install windows xp is inactive

Hello Kimi,
Try this 1
1)First make sure that the Windows XP CD is not damaged and it a bootable CD.
2)Some drives failed to detect few CD's if there are any scratches on it.
3) Try any other bootable CD to make sure that drive is working.
