Extremely green with computers / extremely fast learner

Hello,
specs: DELL/DIMENSION3000
MB*E210882
windowsXP


I have no sound.@ all. it displays the message saying it is unable to play because of the drivers or s-thing . So I went to Google for help look tried looking up drivers with that E210882 # but I didn't have any luck even if I did find the correct I would know how to go about installing it and the whole process.. I do know this desktop only has the 2.0 USB input it has four of those ,1 cat5 network cable ,
3 headphone jack( 1 mic/2 speaker) , 2 round input jacks for keyboard and mouse.

+ there's 2usb/1spk. input in front
