Hi all, im looking for any ideas, I cant get any sound on Toshiba Satellite p100 on vista starter, im getting no audio output device installed on bottom of the screen, speaker symbol has red x through it. I have tried all methods in device manager but keep getting error code 10 message, this was a clean install on new hard drive. For some reason the driver wont install. Would it have anything to do with the laptop being on XP media player edition before? any help would be really appreciated, many thanks in advance

Hi geordiewench,

I see that "Toshiba SATELLITE P100-387" has "Toshiba Bass Enhanced Sound System with SRS® TruSurround XT(TM) technology". The problem description you have provided indicates an audio-drivers related issue. Please provide the "Device Instance Id" of the sound card from the "Device Manager", so that I can try finding the generic drivers for you.

Please do write back to us.
