Accidentally Yanked Headset; Audio No Longer Functions

So, here's what happened: I stood up from my chair as I sat my headphones on my desk, but I suppose they slid off, which resulted in them getting caught around my ankle as I proceeded to walk. They were still plugged in, but I looked down at the audio icon and it said that there weren't any headphones plugged in. I unplugged them and plugged them right back in but it continued to tell me the same message. I'm not sure what I did exactly. I tried plugging old headphones in, along with a couple pairs of ear-buds, but none of them work.
