My keyboard is not responding on some things such as editing word documents. When I try to edit a document the Thesaurus pops up. When I click on start menu it just pops up and disappears really quick. Please help. Older model Gateway Laptop Model MX8710

This could be a virus. What version of Windows are you using and can you get into "safe mode" by hitting F8 during the boot?

Finally got the virus scan to run. Didn't find anything but seems to be working ok so far after scan. Thanks for the reply.
