Excel IF formula

Haven't used Excel in quite some time so this is pretty beginner. I just want to make a formula that turns a cell a different color based on the date. Basically whatever date is in the cell if it has been over 180 days it goes to one color, over 365 it goes to another.

What version of Excel are you using?

You could use the built in function of conditional formatting. Have look at that.
