Ipod 5 wont turn on or charge

It wouldnt charge, and now its dead. When i try holding the home button and on/off button simultaneoulsly for 30 seconds, nothing happens. Please help!

Good Morning.

We need to make certain that your USB cable is any good, OK? When you plug the cable into the IPOD, then into your PC/Laptop, does the PC/Laptop acknowledge the device is connected?

If it isn't working, just buy a new lightning cable. I tried everything, but that's the only thing that worked
