Lost admin password

Hi,

I've lost my admin password and now am unable to update my operating system Currently running Mac OS X 10.7.

I have read about the workaround to create a new admin account and then delete the old accounts but I am concerned if I do this I won't be able to access my files? Can someone please help?

Sorry. We don't offer password help at this time. If you follow those instruction you WILL loose access to the files stored on the computer.
