Browser icon buttons

Hello,i've been trying to get rid of the browser icon buttons like forward, back, mail, fav., n so forth. every time i use customize n move them over they come right back on another browser window. i have windows xp. my computer went kaput a coupla wks ago. i tried to switch it on n when i came back to ck if it had loaded it was gone. so my husb. had to take it in to have it fixed. i can't remember what was wrong with it. but i was able be4 it was repaired to nix out these icons in toolbar of the same operating system windows n they never returned. i've phrased n rephrased the ?? in all the major search engines n there doesn't seem to be an answer on any site i've looked at could u please help me send me n email n explain what i'm not doing or doing wrong. thanx swann

hi,
when you are in the browser, try this:
>View
>Toolbars
>click on Navigation Toolbars
it will disappear.
