My PC doesn't boot from cd

Hello World!

I'm trying to format my hard drive. I restarted my pc and i tried to boot from cd. When the pc prompt me to press any key from keyboard to boot from cd and i press something, nothing happens. Windows starts normaly from hard drive.

Please can you explain me why is happening this?

I assume your trying to boot from a Windows XP CD.

Some Windows XP upgrade CD's are not bootable.

in fact it is not the first time i formated my hard drive, with the same cd i've done this before, and it worked perfect. I'm using a usb keyboard. Is this a problem?

Yes it can be a problem. Some older PC's do not have USB support built into the BIOS. But I assume the keyboard worked OK when you set-up the boot from CD option.

solved the problem...I just replaced my usb keyboard with a ps2 keyboard. thanks..
