I assume your trying to boot from a Windows XP CD.

Some Windows XP upgrade CD's are not bootable.

Good Luck

in fact it is not the first time i formated my hard drive, with the same cd i've done this before, and it worked perfect. I'm using a usb keyboard. Is this a problem?

Yes it can be a problem. Some older PC's do not have USB support built into the BIOS. But I assume the keyboard worked OK when you set-up the boot from CD option.
