WD Element 500GB cant afford to loose the data

i got a WD element 500 GB , its a month old. it was working till yesterday , this morning it showed me a msg saying that i must format this disk inorder to use it.

i cant afford to loose the data plus its a brand new purchase.

will appreciate a quick help big time.

This sounds like a matter of taking the receipt to the store.

As for the matter of the DATA. Gain access to the hardware and copy it.

You are right .. I should go to the store ..

But i purchased it from jordan .. And now im in Sudan.

I.didnt get your point in getting access to hardware. Please elaborate.

Where and what computers have you plugged it into? Does it still come up with the same message? Have you tried to run any kind chkdsk?

I have tried three different laptops with windows 7 .. Same msg kept coming.
And im not into computer repair .. I will appreciate if you guys guide me through this.
