                    Yes it should be easy. If you have a laptop with windows XP installed, just insert the windows 8 CD and do not choose upgrade. Choose the clean installation. After the installation, when you  boot your laptop, you get to choose between the two. 
However, I am not certain if you have win8 installed and then you will try to install winXP.
