Computer flashes black on and off

After a lag spike this morning my computer crashed and now the screen flashes black on and off. This is a desktop computer running windows XP. I can sometimes move the cursor around between flashes, but the taskbar is missing and I can't load programs. I tried restarting my computer but when I turned it back on the screen worked fine until I clicked on the profile.

Sorry but this looks to be a hardware problem with the Motherboard power circuits. You might have a local repair shop take a look at it.
