Wow, that is cool, it takes 5 minutes for your computer to power off with NO BATTERY!
Are you certain with no battery, or with battery? Go to your control panel and see what your "power settings" are set to. It may be possible that your computer is operating correctly as the value to turn off the laptop may be set to turn off with 90% power left.
Take a look at your power settings.
