The shortcuts on the fn keys for my laptop are not working, one of which is to disable or enable the track pad. I need to enable the fn keys so I can turn back on the track pad which somehow got turned off. My computer is a Toshiba satellite L875D-S7111. My OS is windows 8. Thanks.

The Function keys are implemented by manufacturer supplied software. If the laptop was upgraded to Win 8. You might need to download the driver from Toshiba.

Good Luck

The laptop has had windows 8 ever since I bought it. The function keys and the fn key worked up until 2 weeks ago, where they were just suddenly disabled.

Strange. Can you do a system restore to a date before the problem started.

Doesn't the Missouri University of Science and Technology have a tech support office?

The good thing about the college environment is there are always a bunch of Geeks willing to help with someone else's problems.

Good Luck
